Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.
Aristotle
Who are you? Do you know and understand what drives you, moves you, inspires you, frightens you? Do you why you do the things you do and behave in the ways you behave?
Do know who you are at your best and who you have the potential to become at your worst? Do you understand why you react and respond to your partner the way that you do? Relationally, can you think of any information that is more important to understand than understanding who you are, and who your partner is and why?
In my experience as a therapist, people often have no idea of who they are and why they do the things they do. People do not understand who they are and why they feel and act the way they do in different contexts in their lives.
Without understanding who you have a tendency to be in different life and emotional contexts, you are doomed to live your life on autopilot, driven by reactions and bad habits. King Solomon said, “Get Wisdom, and with all they getting, get understanding.”
If you are confused and don’t fully understand why you and your partner do the things you do, take steps to learn about yourself. One great way to do this is by looking into the Primary Colors Personality Insight and Personal Development Tools. You can easily take them on your phone, tablet or computer. Do it today, you will be glad you did.
